Disney Plus, an app that allows you to watch tv shows and movies, is charging a $30 add on fee to watch premiers such as Mulan

Mulan was released on September 4th, 2020. The movie was originally scheduled to premiere in theaters in March but was delayed because of Covid-19.

Charging more for premiers because of the Covid- 19 seems unfair.  Many families can not afford to pay $30 more than the subscription price to watch additional content.

According to movieweb.com, Disney Plus subscribers are not too happy about the new charge, even though it is optional.  Many people who have a Disney Plus account will not pay $30 more to watch the movie.

Mrs. Castagnola feels differently: “I would pay that amount for my 11-year-old daughter to have unlimited access to it… The one-time fee seems a little much, but we have not spent that much money on entertainment lately, so I was more willing to spend.”  Mrs. Castagnola makes a good point.  If the movie was in theaters, $30 would be a reasonable price for a night out.

Disney Plus charging $30 dollars or more is not an outlandish idea, as it is comparable to purchasing two to three tickets.  However, for those who do not want to pay, they can wait until December 4th, 2020 when Mulan rolls over to basic Disney Plus.
