HOUSTON, Texas — Two teenagers never made it home from a party. Now, the man accused of killing them is behind bars — and the details of what happened that night are chilling.
A 19-year-old Houston man has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with a mass shooting that killed two teenagers and wounded four others at a party venue on Jensen Drive in north Houston.
Jakorian Mouton faces charges of capital murder and tampering with evidence in the 497th State District Court.
What Happened That Night
The shooting unfolded at approximately 11:20 p.m. on December 14, 2024, at a private party venue known as “The Curfew Club,” located in the 10100 block of Jensen Drive.
When officers arrived, they found dozens of juveniles and young adults fleeing the scene in panic. Two victims were pronounced dead: 14-year-old A’Ziria Bankhead and 16-year-old Randle King. King was found dead at the scene. Four additional female victims suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Witnesses reported seeing a tall, thin male dressed entirely in black — including a hooded sweatshirt and face covering — firing a pistol directly into the crowd.
The Arrest
For over 18 months, Mouton evaded capture. On June 9, 2026, officers from the Beaumont Police Department, working alongside the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force, located and arrested Mouton in Beaumont, Texas.
He is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out additional charges or arrests.
Why This Case Matters
Both victims were minors. A’Ziria Bankhead was just 14 years old. Randle King was 16. They were at a party — the kind of night that should have been a memory, not a tragedy.
Prosecutors will now determine whether Mouton faces the full weight of a capital murder conviction, which in Texas can carry the death penalty.
