HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A 19-year-old man is now facing murder charges in connection with the deaths of two separate teenagers killed at Harris County parties less than a year apart, authorities announced Wednesday.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed that Enrique Aguilar has been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Angel Garcia, who was shot and killed in August 2025 during a large gathering on Waldine Street. Deputies arrived just after 1 a.m. to find the remnants of a party that had drawn roughly 200 people. Garcia was found shot at the scene and was pronounced dead.
Aguilar was already behind bars when this latest charge was filed — held on a separate murder charge in the death of another 17-year-old. On Valentine’s Day 2026, Mariah Altorre was shot and killed at a party venue on Dagg Road. Court records allege that Aguilar and another individual were “acting reckless by waving firearms and pointing them” at Altorre and others before the fatal shooting. His bond in that case stands at $500,000. Prosecutors have now filed a motion to deny bond in the Garcia case entirely.
Aguilar’s brother, Romeo, was also arrested in connection with the Valentine’s Day shooting — charged with possession of a prohibited weapon. Romeo has since been released on a $30,000 bond.
A second suspect in the Garcia case, 18-year-old Jefferson Velasquez, was separately arrested earlier this month and remains in Harris County custody on a $500,000 bond.
Both victims were 17 years old. Both were at parties. Investigators have not publicly confirmed whether the two cases are connected beyond Aguilar’s alleged involvement in each.
The investigation into both shootings remains active. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
