CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — While most families were watching fireworks on the evening of July 4, a 17-year-old girl disappeared from a Cherokee County neighborhood — and days later, she still has not been found.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Alice Rivas-Morales, 17, was last seen near 6359 Bells Ferry Road on the night of Saturday, July 4. The case has been officially classified as a missing juvenile investigation, and detectives are now asking the public to come forward with any information that could help bring her home.
Authorities describe Alice as approximately 4 feet 11 inches tall, weighing around 140 pounds, with long, dyed-blonde hair and brown eyes.
No details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance have been released, and investigators have not disclosed whether she left on her own or whether foul play is suspected. That silence has left many questions unanswered — and has made the public’s role in this investigation even more critical.
The July 4 holiday weekend is one of the busiest times of year in residential neighborhoods, meaning someone in the area may have seen something without realizing its significance.
Investigators are urging anyone who believes they may have seen Alice — or who has any information about her whereabouts — to contact law enforcement immediately. Authorities are specifically asking that people do not attempt to approach her themselves, and instead report any sightings directly to detectives.
