Cedar Rapids is getting a third Crab House — and the new location might surprise you

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — One of Cedar Rapids’ most popular seafood spots is expanding again, and this time it is heading to the northeast side of the city.

Signage for Crab House Seafood Boil & Bar has appeared in the space just outside of Lindale Mall — the same building that most recently housed Lindale Neighborhood Pub, which shut its doors in late April.

A Fast-Growing Local Favorite

Crab House first opened in Cedar Rapids back in October 2023 at the Westdale Town Center on Edgewood Road SW.

The brand grew quickly. A second location launched in Coralville in November 2025, just outside of Coral Ridge Mall.

Now a third location is on the way — and this one brings the restaurant to a part of the city it has not reached before.

What to Expect on the Menu

Crab House specializes in Cajun-style seafood boils. Guests can choose from pre-set combos or build their own, selecting from seafood options like shrimp, crawfish, clams, crab, lobster, and mussels — all served with corn and red potatoes.

The menu also includes fried seafood baskets, rice and noodle dishes, shrimp appetizers, seafood chowder, and signature items like Gator Bites and the Fisherman’s Feast.

Opening This July

The official Crab House website lists the new Cedar Rapids spot as “coming soon.” A Google listing for the location states the restaurant plans to crack open its doors this July, though a specific grand opening date has not yet been announced.
