HOUSTON, Texas — A quiet neighborhood in northwest Houston was left shaken Sunday evening after a 2-year-old boy was found unresponsive inside a home on Lago Trace Drive.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies and EMS crews arrived at the 500 block of Lago Trace Drive at approximately 6:15 p.m. on June 28, 2026, following reports of a possible drowning.
First responders found the young child unresponsive at the residence.
Paramedics immediately rushed the boy to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, the child was pronounced deceased.
Neighbors Describe a Family Known in the Community
Those who live nearby say the family had been part of the neighborhood for several years.
Neighbors told reporters the children were often seen playing outside — a detail that made Sunday’s tragedy even harder to process.
One neighbor described seeing the child’s father standing outside the home, visibly distraught, in the moments following the incident.
