Houston police are investigating after an 18-year-old girl was critically wounded during a violent confrontation that began as an argument over a boy and ended with her fighting for her life on a hospital bed.
The incident unfolded around 1:00 a.m. on June 11 at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Seaspray Court. According to investigators, the teen had spent the evening at a pool party with a group of friends before returning to the complex with them.
Police say the trouble started when the 18-year-old victim and a 20-year-old woman got into a dispute over a boy. The argument quickly turned physical, with the two exchanging blows in what witnesses described as a fistfight. The confrontation appeared to be over — until the suspect reportedly went inside her apartment, and the victim followed her in.
That’s when things turned deadly. Investigators say a second, far more violent altercation broke out inside the apartment, during which the teen was stabbed in the temple.
Bleeding and in shock, the victim managed to stumble out of the apartment before collapsing in the parking lot. Neighbors who heard the commotion rushed outside and stayed with her, trying to keep her stable until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene.
She was rushed to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Sources say she is currently on life support as doctors fight to save her life.
Police have since detained the 20-year-old woman believed to be involved. She reportedly lives at the same apartment complex and is said to be cooperating with the investigation.
No charges have been announced as of this report. The investigation is active and ongoing, and authorities have not released further details about what led to the fatal escalation.
