Houston Police Hunt Wirt Road Robbery Suspect — $5,000 Reward Now on the Table

Houston police are asking the public to help identify a man wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery on the 1500 block of Wirt Road, and investigators say even a small tip could crack the case.

The robbery happened around 9 p.m. on May 15. Police describe the suspect as a white man last seen wearing a light-colored shirt, dark pants and a baseball-style hat. Investigators have not released additional details about what happened during the holdup, but the case has been classified as aggravated robbery — a charge reserved for incidents involving a deadly weapon, serious bodily injury, or a victim who is elderly or disabled.

The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division says putting a name to the suspect is now the priority. Officers are circulating the limited description in hopes that someone in the community recognizes him.

Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Tipsters can call 713-222-TIPS (8477), submit a tip through the Crime Stoppers mobile app, or file a report online. To remain anonymous and stay eligible for the reward, tips must go directly through Crime Stoppers — police say posting leads on social media instead will disqualify a tip from the payout.

This is not an isolated case. The Robbery Division has issued several similar wanted bulletins in recent weeks, including one tied to a separate robbery along Northwest Freeway, where a matching $5,000 reward was also offered. Investigators say the pattern shows how heavily the department now leans on public tips to push robbery investigations forward.

Anyone who recognizes the man described, has surveillance or dash-cam footage from the area, or has any other information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers and reference the Robbery Division. Police stress that no detail is too small when it comes to identifying a suspect still at large.
