Pasadena Man Arrested After String of Indecent Assaults on Women in Public Places, Police Say

A Pasadena man is facing multiple charges after police say he targeted women in a series of unsettling incidents that played out in broad daylight across local businesses.

Jalen Richard Harrison, 25, was formally charged on Wednesday with two counts of indecent assault, according to the Pasadena Police Department. His arrest came just a day earlier, following a sequence of alleged attacks that authorities say unfolded within a short span of time.

According to investigators, the first reported incident occurred when Harrison allegedly approached a woman while she was shopping at a discount retail store on Southmore Avenue. Police say he came up from behind and grabbed her without warning or consent, leaving the victim shaken.

Authorities say Harrison did not stop there. Shortly after the first incident, detectives allege he walked into a nearby restaurant and targeted a female employee in a similar manner, catching her off guard in what police describe as a continuation of the same troubling pattern.

It was a third incident, reported the following day, that ultimately led investigators to Harrison’s doorstep. Police say it was his arrest in connection with that third alleged assault that allowed detectives to link him to the two earlier cases on Southmore Avenue.

Investigators say the pattern raised immediate concern, prompting a closer look into whether more victims could be involved.

Harrison is currently being held at a regional processing facility as the investigation continues. Formal charges have been filed, and police say further details may emerge as the case moves through the legal system.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have experienced a similar encounter, or who has additional information related to these incidents, to come forward.
