WHITE TOWNSHIP, New Jersey — A violent head-on crash on a Warren County road sent three people to the hospital with serious injuries Tuesday evening, rattling a community where a routine commute turned into an emergency in seconds.

New Jersey State Police responded to County Route 519 North near milepost 41 at 5:12 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision.

What Troopers Found at the Scene

According to State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a Hyundai passenger vehicle was traveling southbound when it crossed the double yellow centerline and slammed directly into a northbound Chevrolet SUV.

The impact was head-on.

The driver of the Hyundai, Dominick Elio, 51, of Netcong, suffered serious injuries. His passenger, Doreen Lyns, 58, also of Netcong, was seriously hurt as well.

On the other side of the collision, Ruthann Disotell, 71, of Belvidere, was behind the wheel of the Chevrolet. She too sustained serious injuries. A passenger riding with her suffered moderate injuries.

All Four Taken to Hospital

Emergency responders transported all four occupants to an area hospital for medical treatment.

The condition of those involved has not been publicly updated since the initial response.

Investigation Still Open

The crash remains under active investigation by the New Jersey State Police. No charges or additional details have been released at this time.

Authorities have not yet disclosed what caused the Hyundai to cross into oncoming traffic.

Route 519 is a two-lane road through rural Warren County, where head-on collisions can carry devastating consequences — as Tuesday’s crash made painfully clear.
