Dance through decades of music at Sultana High School’s Homecoming dance. Tickets go on sale tomorrow!
There will be a one-day sale during lunch on Wednesday, September 20, in the Student Store; tickets will be sold for $25.
From Thursday, September 21, until Friday, October 6, tickets will be $35 without an Associated Student Body (ASB) card, and $30 with an ASB card.
The theme for this year’s Homecoming is “Don’t Stop the Music”.
Sultana has a long-standing tradition of grade-level created floats that are secured on flatbed trailers and paraded around Jay Reed field by trucks during halftime. Each class made floats with different genres of music, from various time periods. Jennifer Wiedeman, vice principal of activities, said, ¨It is a good night, lots of fun and it is a night to show school spirit and love for our school.” The announcement of the Homecoming court will also take place during halftime of the game. Wiedeman said the announcement will be a special surprise production.
The Homecoming dance will follow the game, on Friday, October 6, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Sultana High School in the Sultan Hall. Appropriate dress will be required to enter. Food and drinks will be sold separately by clubs just outside the gym, during the dance.
Wiedeman said ASB chose the theme of music for Homecoming because they wanted to emphasize the evolution of music; to show how much it has changed from records to track tapes, to cassette tapes to CD’s and MP3. Now, everyone streams their music.
