Infant Left With 6-Year-Old Suffers Brain Bleed and Seizures — What the Mothers Were Doing Will Leave You Speechless

A 2-month-old baby is fighting for life on a ventilator after being left alone with young children while both mothers allegedly abandoned them to party at a hotel — and what investigators found inside the home has shocked even seasoned law enforcement officials.

Two Texas mothers, Sidney Whitt, 21, and Jacqulun Morales, 29, allegedly left their three children — ages 6, 4, and just 2 months old — locked inside a bedroom under the watch of Morales’ 18-year-old sister before heading out to drink alcohol and use drugs with a man at a nearby hotel.

Left without proper adult supervision, the older children began tossing the infant around and stomping on the baby’s head. The violent episode continued until the newborn began suffering seizures. When the infant was eventually rushed to a hospital, doctors reported a serious brain bleed and extensive facial bruising. The child was placed in a medically induced coma.

What made the situation even more disturbing was the 18-year-old sister’s response to investigators. She admitted witnessing the abuse but claimed she did not intervene because the children were “not hers” and she felt no responsibility for their safety.

The mothers returned home to find the infant severely injured — and still did not seek medical help until the following day.

When law enforcement searched the residence, they uncovered deeply alarming conditions: no air conditioning, floors covered in rat feces, soiled diapers, and clothing strewn everywhere, with flies infesting the entire space.

Child Protective Services and hospital staff alerted police, prompting a full investigation by the Smith County Sheriff’s Office. All three women — Whitt, Morales, and the sister — were arrested and charged with child endangerment and injury to a child. Each was held on a $250,000 bond per charge.

As of last Friday, the infant remained on a ventilator in a medically induced coma. The case has renewed urgent calls for stronger child welfare oversight in at-risk home environments.
